I always look forward to BBSGB coz there is alws a new experience, enjoyable and alot to learn.
7/12/08 ;1st day of BBSGBI was early to reach cwp and meet up with BB mates. Happy that i becoming punctual. Mrt-ed to Tiong Bahru to BBHQ and lata was sent to outstation at Bukit Panjang Plaza with Zi Yang. That place sucks in some way. The box was uber small. How much things can u put in there?? And pushing the roller cages in the mall was lik attracting so much attention. I was lik 'see wad see'..push roller cages only mah. Then they still duno how giv space. One of the cashier looks lik Cynthia. LOL. But she's a little shorter. Then two girls kept coming to the front of NTUC, whr we were. I thot they were interested in we two guys. They left the place and returned for many times. Ziyang still memorised Jason's number for "emergency cases".Funny la. Coz we realised the two girls were the fake cashier 'Cynthia' der friends. We mistook them. Lols. We shared jokes and many happenings in between the process of BBSGB. Example, many small cute girls were eyeing at Zi Yang, perhaps wondering if he was a giant. One even tried 'attacking' him with a stick(forgot wad it was). It was accident la actually. The staffs and manager there were very good! One of a part-time boy helped me out. And during moving, the boys were so funny. Force will not have happiness. He said this in chinese when we trying to force the roller cage in the store room.
Saw Tong Jun and his family. Ended the day with a alot of flyers, abt 2 cages of collections and abt half-full donation tin. Led the wrong way home. Ziyang was lik do u hav any sense of direction!? zz it was really dark and i couldnt see the LRT track. LOLS. Paiseh bro.
8/12/08 ;2nd day of BBSGBEvryone FAAs of 58th outstationed except Ben. Jason got sent to a country club and it sounds so cool. Heard that it was actually boring and slack. This time, we were assigned and evryone was sighing and praying. Senior had to outstation with a junior and we had to outstation with someone with duno. I was sent to Toa Payoh HDB Hub with a boy called Siong June. He is so quiet and the whole day was so sian with him. He is from 9th company, Westwood sec. I was also sad that i have to wear corporal rank with not much badges. Got Yi Jie's no. frm 9th company too so as to contact Jun An. People at Toa Payoh were much bttr. The box was big! Took key frm manager and started operation. We were given Ferrero Rocher and bottles of water by the generous givers. Many were generous and i found out most were chinese. 4cages filled at the end of the day. Flyers were not given out all coz i was slacking. Donation tins were heavy! I saw Mrs Jasmine Yeo and her family. Her husband shuai de lor. I also saw Shimei and Mei Xia. I conclude it was a successful operation. SOP bag to returned at Orchard. The atmosphere there was merry as Christmas is coming! So exciting. Abt 8.30pm, we can return home! But i waited for Jun An who was sent to Thomson Plaza. Yi Jie has a funny brother! Exchged to our bags and mrt-ed to cwp. Waited for Zi Yang. He told his story abt the mad uncle at Marine Parade until 11.30pm. Actually, i thought the uncle is seriously drunk and i guessed he had some bad pasts. Hope he is be alrite.
9/12/08 ;last day of BBSGSBI love this warehouse duty! Kop oreos! lols. Jason the worst, kop duno wad test tube. LOL. Funny la. Jun An,among us, was sent to Orchard, the main box. He had fun there too, slacking. Working at miscellanous and seasoning sections and the other Sai Gang was fun. Load and unloading stuffs. Counting salt and sugar. Check for dented canned food and expiry dates. Finding snacks for ourself. LOLS. Lunch and dinner was average. Glad to know people like Royce, Terry and others. Boys, including my company de, who helped me are thanked! Accepting help frm others is a responsibility too! yea. So accept more! At nite, we became more efficient and faster. Gin Soon was so hiong. We made many human chains that day to load and unload. And while passing oil, it was oily. So we passed clothes aft passing oil stuff. LOLS. Royce kept laughing when i passed to him things in a vry kan cheong way. At nite, we were really fast at unloading. It was incredible. During debrief, the primer shared to us what we can learn and he speak so chimly abt how a system helps in efficiency. One boy said we became more efficient because we know we are going off soon aft doing the job. LOLS. Nice one.
Went to look for Jun An aft the job done in warehouse. Mrt-ed home together. BBSGB experience will be rmbed! Coz there are so many funny moments.
Always, we could see wierd people out there. Kind, funny, rude and watsoevr. People who take out their wallets in front of us and yet not donating, making us misunderstood. Or manager of NTUC who dont lent us chairs to sit. We learn more abt people out in the world during outstations.
Alternatively, we learn more abt people we see evryday. In warehouse duties, we get to bond with our friends. We worked together and enjoyed. Sometimes, friend would scold another cause his slacking but at last, evryone got together and did something meaningful. Don't forget! The aim of this event is to help out the elderlys and needy children, do our part and make a difference.
Thank God for such a worthful project, for the opportunity to help out, for our strength to take part, for the good food to fortify ourselves during BBSGB, for the good weather to operate during BBSGB, for the people who helped us, for the people who helped others, for evrything He gave.
Off to slp. Nites ppl. Shall end with a photo taken right aft SPARK camp. Dinner at Mac with Maramu.
